HERE IS INFO ON THE BOY SCOUT EVENT
Thank you for
contacting me.
The date is Sunday, August 22 from 1 to 3pm at Victoria Park in Hercules.
Victoria Park is located within the Victoria By the Bay subdivision.
From Martinez direction, take Hwy 4 to where it ends in Hercules just under and past Hwy 80 at San Pablo Ave.
Then turn right on San Pablo, go to the next stop light and turn left on Victoria Crescent West.
Go to the stop sign and then turn left 50 feet ahead onto Victoria Park.
Go all the way down the street and you will see the park straight ahead. Street parking only near park.
We will be serving hot dogs chips and drinks from 12:30 to 1 for anyone that wants to eat.
I would like to start at 1pm with a show and tell from MDMDC members with some of their interesting and unusual finds, coins, jewelry, gold nuggets, cub scout
scarf slides and anything else that would peak their interest.
This would last maybe 15-20 minutes.
Then depending on how many detectors we have and how many scouts, we would have either two smaller hunts or one larger hunt if there is
enough detectors.
I would expect there to be a maximum of 20 to 25 scouts.
I have 2 detectors so if anyone has more than one detector, bring it and the parents can help their son if needed.
After 15-20 minutes the hunt is over and we will tally up how much each scout finds.
Last year many scouts and parents were interested in detectors because they had fun.
If some members have a detector they want to sell or if Ray wants to have a table there to sell some
things would be great! Let me know of any questions that come up. |
HERE IS SOME MORE USE FULL INFO
A club member asked if anyone would know in which states metal detecting is allowed.
Members may check out web site: www.fmdac.org,
then go toe State Park Regulations to see a state by state account
where and where not detecting is allowed.
Click on the state you want to explore and you will find more info.
If it is a historical park in any sense of the word then consider it off limits.
THIS IS JUST ONE SOURCE.
If you want to hunt in East Bay Regional Parks you will need one of there permits.
They are $20.00 for a two year permit. You can get them at the regional office at
2950 Peralta Oaks Dr. Oakland. That's near the Oakland Zoo.
